This Privacy Policy explains how TracifyCam ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our GPS camera and video application. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Data Collection

TracifyCam is a GPS camera and video app. The data it handles is described below and matches the declarations made in the Google Play Data Safety form.

Data types

Precise location (GPS): Collected from your device's GPS only at the moment you take a photo or start a video recording. It is used to embed GPS coordinates and a readable address into a watermark on your media. It is never used for advertising, analytics, or profiling.
Approximate location: The App holds the standard Android approximate-location permission alongside precise location. It is read the same way at capture time and is not used for any other purpose.
Photos and videos: Created by you and stored locally on your device. They leave your device only if you explicitly choose to share or export them.

What happens when you capture

You take a photo or start a video recording.
The App reads your GPS coordinates from the device (precise location).
To show a readable street address, the App sends those coordinates to the device's built-in reverse geocoding service — on Android this is the Android system geocoder (typically backed by Google's services), and on iOS it is Apple's geocoding service. This is the only step where coordinates leave your device, and it happens solely to resolve an address.
The App renders the coordinates, address, and timestamp as a watermark and saves the finished media file locally on your device.

TracifyCam does not sell, rent, or trade personal data. It does not use your location or media for advertising, and it does not run analytics or crash-reporting services on your data. No separate database of your captures or locations is maintained.

Important: Location data is used only to generate the watermark on your media and is never used for advertising or analytics. Reverse geocoding may send your coordinates to the platform's geocoding service solely to obtain a readable address. Media files stay on your device unless you share them.

2. Permissions We Use

The App requires the following permissions solely for on-device functionality:

Camera — Used only when you actively capture photos or record videos.
Microphone — Used only to record audio while recording a video.
Location (GPS, precise & approximate) — Accessed only when you take a photo or start a video recording. Used to embed geographic coordinates and address as a watermark overlay. Your location is never used for advertising or analytics.
Storage — Used to save:
- Photos
- Videos
- Generated PDF reports

You may revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings.

3. Information Captured

When you take a photo or record a video, the App may embed the following information directly into the media file as a visible watermark:

GPS latitude and longitude coordinates
Street address / locality (reverse-geocoded using the device's built-in geocoding service — see Section 6)
Date and time of capture

This watermark is rendered and saved as part of the image or video file. No separate metadata log of your captures is maintained.

Depending on your settings, generated media may also contain standard image metadata (EXIF) in addition to the visible watermark.

4. Generated Reports

Generated reports (PDFs) are stored locally on your device and are only shared if you explicitly choose to export or share them through the system share sheet.

5. Your Choices

You have full control over your data. You can:

Disable GPS permission at any time through device settings
Disable Camera permission at any time through device settings
Delete photos anytime using the in-app gallery or file manager
Delete exported reports anytime
Revoke any permission through Android or iOS Settings

6. Third-Party Services

TracifyCam integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, or crash reporting services. The external services used are:

Geocoding (device built-in): Reverse geocoding converts GPS coordinates into a readable street address using the device's built-in geocoder — Apple's geocoding service on iOS, and the Android system geocoder on Android, which may be backed by Google's services. When you capture media, the coordinates are transmitted to that provider solely to resolve the address. TracifyCam does not intentionally store or log these coordinates. The provider's handling of such requests is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy:

Firebase (Google): The App uses Firebase services such as Cloud Firestore to retrieve app configuration, including legal document URLs. No personal data, media, or location data is sent to Firebase.

The only other system-level integrations are the native share sheet (which you may use to voluntarily share media) and the device photo gallery, both of which operate under your direct control.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

All captured media is stored locally on your device. You have full control over these files and may delete them at any time through the in-app gallery or your device's file manager. The App does not maintain any copy once you delete a file.

For geocoding, TracifyCam does not intentionally store the coordinates it sends for address resolution. Any handling or retention of those requests by the geocoding provider is governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us so we can assist.

9. Security

Photos, videos, and generated reports are processed and stored locally on your device, so their security is tied to your device's own protections. Geocoding and configuration requests are sent over encrypted connections where supported by the platform. We recommend securing your device with a password or biometric lock to prevent unauthorized access to stored media.

10. Open Source Licenses

TracifyCam may include open-source libraries. Their respective licenses remain applicable. A list of licenses is available inside the application.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and/or on our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
